Layla Roberts used to work as a personal concierge for platinum credit card holders for Australia’s 5 main banks, and after just 2 months she thought “I can do this by myself”. Although it took her another 2.5 years to pluck up the courage to resign and go it alone.

Concierge Connections is a personal concierge and lifestyle management service; which is essentially a PA for your personal life.

About 11 months

Q. What kind of online and offline marketing do you do and which is working for you?
Networking, social media, blog posts, advertising (including magazines and Facebook)
Q. Do you use social media as part of your marketing?
Definitely. I am on all of them: Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Pintrest, Instagram, Youtube and to a lesser extent, Google +
Q. What mistakes have you made in running your business and what lessons have you learnt from those?
Paying for courses, seminars and marketing materials (eg – flyers for letterbox drops) which did not pay off (eg – result in any sales)

Q. What obstacles or challenges are you facing at the moment?
Finding time for everything; being an expert in everything (eg – IT, sales, marketing etc) as I am a solo business owner; and educating people on the personal concierge industry.
