ChatGPT Confession #003 –
I Had Lunch With George Clooney (well… kind of)

This is part of my ChatGPT Confessions series, where I share real things I’ve asked ChatGPT – and what actually happened.

I’ve had a crush on George Clooney for years. The kind of crush you don’t question, you just accept as part of your personality.

So naturally… we had lunch.

Not in the traditional sense. There were no flights, no paparazzi, and no awkward “so what do you do?” conversations. Just a prompt, a bit of curiosity, and a quiet moment where I thought, let’s see how far this has come.

This example shows how AI image generation using ChatGPT has evolved and what it means for small business owners.

The Backstory

About a year and a half ago, my brother had the same idea. He asked ChatGPT to create an image of me with George Clooney.

The result was… memorable.

George looked mostly fine, which felt unfair. I, on the other hand, looked like I’d been assembled in a rush. There may have been extra fingers involved. Possibly proportions that didn’t belong to any known human structure.

It was one of those images where you laugh, close it quickly, and pretend it never happened.

At the time, it felt like fun technology, but not something you’d take seriously.

The Experiment

This time, I tried again.

Same idea. Same imaginary lunch. But this time, I uploaded my photo and gave ChatGPT a simple instruction to create a realistic image of the two of us sitting at an outdoor café.

What came back was completely different.

Not perfect. But believable.

At a glance, it looks like a normal photo. Two people having lunch, smiling at the camera, nothing unusual about it. The kind of image you would scroll past without questioning.

And that’s the moment that made me pause.

Result of the Experiment

Because this isn’t just about a fun image.

It’s about how quickly the barrier has dropped.

Ten years ago, creating something like this would have required proper design skills, specialised software, and a decent amount of time. You needed to know what you were doing.

Now?

You need a clear idea and a single sentence.

That’s a very different world.

What ChatGPT Helped Me Realise

One of the comments on my LinkedIn post said it perfectly: the real challenge now isn’t the software, it’s imagination.

That shift is bigger than it sounds.

The barrier is no longer technical skill. It’s clarity. It’s knowing what you want to create and being able to describe it well enough to get there.

That applies far beyond images.

It applies to content, marketing, messaging, and how businesses show up online.

The Part That Made Me Think Twice

Not everyone saw this as a fun experiment.

Some people immediately pointed out the risks. Deepfakes. Misuse. The growing difficulty in telling what’s real and what isn’t.

And they’re not wrong.

Because if I can create a realistic image like this for fun, someone else can create something far more misleading.

This is where the conversation shifts.

It’s not about whether the technology is good or bad. It’s about awareness and responsibility.

The more people understand what AI can do, the less likely they are to blindly trust everything they see.

The Prompt I Used

“Create a realistic image of me having lunch with George Clooney at an outdoor café, natural lighting, casual setting, smiling at the camera.”

Why I Asked This

Part curiosity. Part experiment. And if I’m being honest, curiosity about just how real this could look.

I wanted to see if we had crossed that line where AI stops looking like AI.

And I think we have.

What ChatGPT Did Well

It created a scene that felt natural. The lighting made sense, the composition worked, and the overall image didn’t immediately trigger that “something’s off” reaction.

But more importantly, it demonstrated how far this technology has come in a very short period of time.

What This Means for Small Business Owners

This isn’t just a novelty. It’s a shift in how content is created.

You no longer need expensive photoshoots for every idea. You don’t need to rely on complex tools or spend hours editing images just to bring a concept to life.

But at the same time, it raises the bar for trust.

Because when anything can be created quickly and convincingly, people start questioning everything they see.

That’s where your brand, your website, and your overall presence matter more than ever.

Because trust is no longer assumed. It has to be built.  And your website is the perfect place to start.

AI Takeaway

AI hasn’t just made things faster.

It’s made them accessible.

And when something becomes accessible, it changes who can create, what they can create, and how quickly they can do it.

That’s the real shift.

Final Thought

What started as a bit of fun ended up showing something much bigger.

The technology has moved faster than most people realise, and what used to take time, skill, and expensive tools can now be done in seconds.

That’s exciting… and slightly unsettling at the same time.

Because when something looks real this easily, it changes how we think about content and trust.

And maybe that’s the real takeaway.

It’s not just about what AI can create.

It’s about how we choose to use it.

And George… if you’re reading this, I’m still available for a real lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions

AI-generated images have improved significantly and can now look very natural at a glance. Lighting, facial detail, and composition are often good enough that most people won’t question the image unless they look closely. This is a big shift from earlier versions, where images often had obvious flaws.

No. That’s the major change. You don’t need design experience or complex software anymore. The key skill is being able to clearly describe what you want. The better the prompt, the better the result.

The main risk is trust. If images are used in a misleading way, it can damage credibility. There’s also a broader issue around deepfakes and misinformation. This is why understanding how AI works is important, so you can both use it responsibly and question what you see online.

Not completely. AI is a powerful tool, but it doesn’t replace strategy, branding, or real-world context. It works best when used alongside professional content, not as a full replacement.

Small business owners can use AI to create visual content quickly, test ideas, and bring concepts to life without large budgets. It’s especially useful for social media, blog content, and marketing experiments.

Clarity. The better you can describe what you want, the better the output. Prompting has become a core skill, replacing much of the technical barrier that used to exist.
