I help entrepreneurs launch their business online by creating an engaging and high converting website.   A professional website can open the doors to many new business opportunities and save you valuable time.

Once the website is launched, I help to support you through your online journey with website updates, upgrades and marketing.

Think of me as your business co-pilot.  I make what seems complex and overwhelming, simple for you.

Many small business owners also want a website that feels professional, clear, and easy to manage without becoming overwhelmed by the process. If you are based locally, you can explore our Northern Beaches website design services to see how we help businesses create websites they feel confident sharing.

What products/services do you offer?

Website Design and Development

Getting your business online is exciting, but for many small business owners it can also feel overwhelming.  There are endless decisions to make – from choosing the right platform and structure to writing content, organising images, understanding SEO, and figuring out how everything works together.

That’s where we come in.

Whether you need a completely done-for-you website or website design coaching so you can build your own WordPress website with guidance and support, we help simplify the process and make it feel far less stressful.

Our focus is not just on creating a website that looks good, but on building a website that reflects your business professionally, communicates clearly, and helps turn visitors into enquiries and customers. We guide you through everything from planning your pages and structure through to design, functionality, content, calls to action, and ongoing support.

Many clients come to us after spending months procrastinating, trying to piece everything together themselves, or feeling stuck and unsure where to start. Instead of wasting valuable time going around in circles, you can focus on what you do best while we help bring your vision to life and create a website you feel proud to share.

Website Audits

Having a successful website involves much more than making it visually appealing.  There are many components that go into creating a website that converts visitors into paying customers and we look at your website to determine:

  1. How visitor friendly it is
  2. How professional does it look
  3. What calls to action does it have
  4. Is there design consistency
  5. Credibility and trust icons
  6. Is there sufficient content

and so much more.

We provide you with a Website Audit report that will help to make simple changes to your website that can have a huge impact on how it performs.

Website Redesign

Ask yourself – does your website portray the professional and credible image you want your customers to see? Have you clearly explained what you do, how you help, and why someone should choose you?

Many business owners outgrow their website without even realising it. Over time, websites can become outdated, confusing to navigate, difficult to update, or no longer aligned with where the business is today. In some cases, business owners avoid sending people to their website altogether because it no longer reflects the quality of their services.

A website redesign is about more than just a fresh look. It’s about improving clarity, usability, trust, and creating a website that supports your business properly. When visitors can quickly understand what you offer and feel confident in your business, they are far more likely to take the next step and contact you.

Business Logo Design

A good logo is important for a successful business, especially if you are in a competitive industry. And let’s face it who isn’t these days. You are not only competing with local businesses but often with overseas ones as well.

Some of the reasons your business needs a professional logo include:

1. Make a great first impression
2. Attract new customers
3. Stand out from your competition
4. Portray a professional image
5. Let your customers know what your business is about
6. Help customers to remember you

Our team of skilled graphic designers will create your logo based on your company’s image and marketing strategy.

Need a website that actually reflects the quality of your business?

Book a free 30 minute strategy session and let’s talk about creating a website that feels professional, clear, and confident to share.

Why did you start your business and how long have you been running it?

I started my website design business 20 years ago after suddenly finding myself a single parent with a two-year-old son.

The thought of going back to the corporate world, long commutes, and missing important moments in his life just didn’t feel right for me. I wanted the flexibility to be there as he grew up while still building a career I enjoyed.

I had always been fascinated by technology and creativity, so I started doing website design courses and teaching myself as much as I could.

Back then the internet was still relatively new, so there was a lot of experimenting, learning, and figuring things out as I went.

Once I built my first few websites and started advertising my services, I quickly realised how many small business owners felt overwhelmed by the online world.

That became one of the foundations of my business – helping people make sense of something that often feels confusing and stressful, and turning it into something manageable, exciting, and genuinely useful for their business.

What struggles do you think most businesses face in your industry
and what would you say they need to do to overcome them?

Fear

I think so many of us have a fear of being found out or not to be good enough, or that the job we will do is not going to be perfect.  But in reality we are the only ones who see us that way.  If you were to ask any of your clients or friends you would be surprised how others perceive you.

Don’t be so hard on yourself – give things a go and if they don’t work out, it’s ok.  You will have learnt plenty of valuable lessons along the way.

Overwhelm

Every day we are bombarded by so much information and our list of things gets longer by the minute, especially when you are first starting out in business.

I would recommend you get yourself a good project management app or software.  Personally I use todoist.com.  Whilst it doesn’t take away all the tasks you have to do, but it allows you to get organised, which is half the battle.

My other suggestion would be to tackle one project at a time, rather than trying to do everything at the same time.  For example, create your website first, then worry about your social media profiles, search engine optimisation etc.

Trying to Do Everything Yourself

I think most entrepreneurs spread themselves too thin – they try to do everything by themselves with limited skills, time and money.  And ultimately they burn out and their business closes down.

This is one reason many business owners eventually start comparing DIY website building with professional support. This guide on DIY vs professional website design explores where the biggest differences usually appear.

For this, I would suggest you focus on what you do best and outsource the rest.  You will find that your business can get up and running much faster and be more successful if you have experts such as a copywriter, website developer, graphic designer, accountant working with you.

Comparison

I think one of the biggest struggles in business today is comparison. It’s very easy to look at what everyone else is doing online and feel like you are falling behind or not doing enough. Social media especially can create the illusion that everyone else has everything figured out.

The reality is that most businesses are figuring things out as they go. Instead of constantly comparing yourself to others, focus on improving your own business step by step. Small consistent action over time is far more valuable than trying to chase perfection or keep up with everyone around you.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

There have been several things I have been proud of having achieved:

  • Raising my son as a single parent while running a business
  • Beating breast cancer
  • Pushing through my fear of public speaking and presenting at a conference when I was at my weakest and recovering from cancer treatments

What has been your biggest ‘fail’ so far?

I heard a quote several years ago, which said “Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn.” I don’t look at anything I’ve done as a failure, but as a valuable life lesson.

One very valuable lesson came when I started my business.  I added a contact form to my website, then spent over $6000 on advertising and received no enquiries.

3 weeks later I got a call from Bill asking when I was going to contact him regarding his website.  Bill told me he filled out the contact form and was waiting to hear from me.

I did a little digging and I found out the form failed to send me notifications whenever someone filled it out.  There were over 30 enquiries and I missed them all!

This was a very valuable lesson and a mistake I will never make again.  I now test my forms every few weeks to ensure they are still working.

What working with a website designer changes

What do you love most about your business?

One of the things I love most is constantly learning. Technology, marketing, websites, AI, online business – things change so quickly, which means there is always something new to explore and improve. I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out and finding better ways to help clients grow their business online.

I also genuinely enjoy solving problems. Sometimes clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure where to start.

Being able to take something that feels confusing and turn it into a clear plan and a professional website is incredibly rewarding.

But probably the most satisfying part is hearing how a new website has positively impacted a client’s business.

Whether it’s increased enquiries, more confidence in promoting themselves, or finally feeling proud to send people to their website, those moments remind me why I started this business in the first place.

What do you find most challenging?

One of the things I still find challenging is delegating. Like many business owners, I care deeply about the work and sometimes find it hard to let go of certain tasks because I want things done properly and reflect the level of quality I want clients to experience.

Working for yourself can also feel quite isolating at times. When you run your own business, especially as a solo business owner, there is nobody else making the decisions for you or solving problems when things go wrong. You wear a lot of hats every day – designer, support person, marketer, bookkeeper, strategist, content creator, and sometimes even counsellor for stressed clients.

Keeping up with technology can also feel overwhelming because the online world changes so quickly. There are constantly new platforms, tools, AI developments, and marketing trends emerging, and it can feel impossible to keep up with everything.

At the same time, I also see that as part of what keeps the business interesting. I enjoy learning, adapting, and continuing to grow professionally, even if at times it pushes me outside my comfort zone.

What lessons have you learnt during your time as an entrepreneur?

One of the biggest lessons I have learnt is that I am far more productive when I focus on what I do best – designing websites.

Instead of trying to do everything myself, I have found experts who I trust that can support my clients when they need help with hosting, emails, social media, search engine optimisation and marketing.

Also, I used to promote my services to all small businesses, but I’ve learnt it’s much better to focus on a specific audience.

So whilst I can still create websites for all business types, my marketing is now focussed on designing websites for coaches, consultants and service providers.

What key tips for success in business
would you like to share with others?

  • Set up systems to help you run your business more efficiently – this includes appointment scheduling, email automation, live chat, etc.
  • Find people that can help you with daily running of the business, these don’t need to be staff members, they can simply be people that you trust in business.
  • Create a document with standard emails and documents so you are not wasting a lot of time looking for them.
  • Most businesses chase new customers – I would recommend figuring out extra services or products you can sell to your existing customers.
  • Learn, learn, learn new skils – there are plenty of videos on YouTube and business related books.
  • Give as much value as you can in terms of free reports, checklists, videos, run webinars and mini training courses
  • Don’t wait until everything is perfect before launching or promoting yourself. Most businesses improve through action, feedback, and experience – not by endlessly planning behind the scenes.
  • Build genuine relationships in business. Some of the biggest opportunities, referrals, collaborations, and long-term clients often come through people who know, trust, and remember you.

As far as website design tips go:

  • Be aware that 99% of people won’t buy from you the first time they come across your website, so find a way to engage with them – this can be by offering something for free in return for their email address, encouraging them to follow you on social media or interacting with them via live chat
  • Realise that people don’t care about you. I know that sounds harsh, but the reality is people only want to know what you can do for them and how you can resolve their problems.  Therefore the website should be focussed on your customers, not you
  • Your website needs to prove that you are credible and that they can trust you – this can be done through the use of testimonials, case studies, before and after photos, media exposure, high profile clients
  • You need to include calls to action on your website to let people know what you want them to do.

One of the biggest website mistakes businesses make is focusing too heavily on themselves instead of helping visitors quickly understand how they can help. These common website mistakes often reduce trust and enquiries without business owners realising it.

What is the one thing that you want everyone to take away from this post?

Take every opportunity that comes your way. Just say YES and trust that you will figure things out along the way. So many of the best things that have happened in my business and life came from opportunities that initially felt uncomfortable, unexpected, or even a little intimidating.

When I started my business, I certainly didn’t have everything figured out. I learnt through trial and error, saying yes to projects, learning new skills, meeting people, and being willing to keep moving forward even when I felt uncertain.

Every opportunity, no matter how small, can lead to something bigger that you cannot yet see.

A conversation can lead to a client. A small project can lead to referrals.

A challenge can teach you skills that completely change the direction of your business. Sometimes the opportunities that feel the scariest end up becoming the most important turning points in your life.
